Beach Walk

Although I was wearing several layers of clothes, this was a fun beach walk.

Eagles did not like us encroaching on their territory

This photo is missing perspective, the skeleton was at least 3 feet long and the head another foot.

Alaska

Alaska beauty - no words necessary.

Arizona from the Sky

On my way to Alaska for work, I got a wonderful view of the Grand Canyon.

Tomato Harvest

A friend gifted us three tomato plants. We had little hope for a harvest as our last year's attempt to grow tomatoes failed. But it was a better tomato year for sure. I got to pick and eat sun warm tomatoes. How big is the harvest... well, there will be no canning needs.

Yard Work

Our summer travel has left its mark on the yard. Weeds do well despite the seemingly tricky soil conditions that make growing things hard, and weeds grow fast. Additionally, the dead tree needed replacing. Walking through HomeDepot, we found a Golden Apple tree on sale that Bob now has planted. Since the ground is full of rocks, this was a herculean effort that Bob willingly undertook.

County Fair

Bob and I visited the County Fair. We visited the livestock areas and saw many different chickens, rabbits, and goats. I did not realize there are that many different species of chickens, and some are pretty funny-looking.

We spotted a piece of Wulfenite in the rock exhibit, and we could not resist some fried food before biking home.

The Last of the Sunflowers

Back in Flagstaff, the sky blue and the winds warm, my daily walks were so enjoyable. It is clearly the end of sunflower season, but still enough for me to stop and take photos.

I realize these are not sunflowers, but they are still pretty.

Wedding!

We were honored to be able to partake in the glorious wedding celebrations for Scott and Willa. The ceremony in the Redwoods, the drink stations scattered around the gorgeous gardens, the tasty meal served to a backdrop of an amazing view, the toasts, the dancing, the after-dinner snacks - not a detail was overlooked.

Beach Walk

We took full advantage of being at the beach. When the boys had finished their homework and all the pre-wedding chores were complete, it was time for another walk. Sun, sand, water, and family - can it get any better?

Jackpot

Noah has been waiting patiently for his new mountain bike. Due to Covid and supply chain challenges, mountain bikes are hard to get. When Noah took a break from his chemistry homework, he browsed bike sites. A local bike shop has the exact bike he wants. Going to the store and checking out the bike was the proper incentive to completing the homework. The bike traveled home with us as luggage and is now waiting for Noah to enjoy his first ride over fall break.

Mini Vacation

Since the wedding was in Santa Cruz, we got a mini-vacation! We enjoyed a walk along the shoreline, checking out the sea lions, getting some sand between our toes, and enjoying the sound of the ocean. I could not resist the temptation to stop every block to take photos of flowers - California sun, you bring out the best in vegetation.
