We enjoyed a live stream Christmas Eve service from the church. And just like in years past, we lined up for a family picture. The only difference is that the background this year was the wall of movies, not the front of the First Presbyterian Church of Joplin.
We celebrated Christmas in Missouri. Every night, we were treated to a gourmet meal superintendent either by Lisa or Jason. As I review our pictures, we have lots of photos of the dining room table, the prep people in the kitchen, and the lavish spreads we enjoyed. No wonder the clothes felt a bit tighter as we drove home...
While Lukas waited for the last supplies to arrive for his lights, he decided to program a small LED display. Why? Just for fun, of course.
Lukas arrived home from college, ready to make and create again. He sewed some, the tinkered some, he baked a lot, and then he headed to the workshop to construct his new light fixture. Bob and Noah assisted in the project as assistant carpenters and design advisors.
We found two living room chairs at a garage sale this summer. The wood frames were in good condition, the cushions not so much. After a family consultation, it was determined that these chairs would look better recovered and that the fabric should be the same as some of the other pieces in the living room. Since this was in the middle of a pandemic, finding the same fabric again proved a challenge. We did try to find it online to no avail. After checking in about ten Walmart stores, we had a sufficient amount of material. Unfortunately, Lukas was already off to college by then, and the sewing machine was tucked away in the garage. Once back home after completing his first semester of college, having had a chance to rest a bit, work on his own projects, and sewing a bag for himself, Lukas tackled the recovering of the chairs. He did a fantastic job, and the chairs look nice.
It is not uncommon to find Bob and the boys with a computer in front of them, discussing some project, some idea, or some program code. Christina enjoys listening to their banter.
Noah and Lukas are taking advantage of every free moment to make and bake more Christmas treats. Cookies, pastries, and candy - nothing is too complicated or challenging to these two amazing bakers.
