Science Friday on a Wednesday

We typically do Science on Fridays, in a larger block of time, exploring, building, testing and learning. However, there is nothing that says it has to be done on Fridays and last week we had another commitment on Friday afternoon and opted for Science Wednesday.
The boys watched yet another great video from Supercharged Science and followed along the detail instructions for moving a hydrolic earth mover out of every day items - well, we typically do not have syringes on hand.. but otherwise it was all right here in our school cabinet.
Noah worked hard to cut wood skewers with a scissors to the right length and had a lot of fun watching water move up and down the tube connected to the two syringes. Lukas and Noah divided up the work according to talent and interest and before we knew it, there was the hydrolic earth mover.
The boys had fun trying it out, but the ones who really appreciated it were the younger boys that came over later in the week - and unlike many of Lukas and Noah's Lego Creations the boys were allowed to play with this cool contraption.

Look, it is moving on its own...
