Heat, please

It is November so maybe it is not so bad that we need to turn on the heat in the house again.... Our thin California blood is thinking it is way too cold outside when the temperature reads low 50s.  Since it has been quite some time since the heater was used - cannot even remember the last time we had the heater running - the thermostat had run out of battery. No wonder my cold, stiff fingers were not successful in turning on some heat in preparation of little boys waking up..
Noah happily tackled the project of replacing the battery, using his fancy pocket knife he purchased in Hawaii last December.

Amazing that the only thing between me and a warm house was an AA battery! Now the heater happily hums and whirls and the house is nice and warm when I wake up.
