Iceland Bound

After some fun family days in Sweden we once again packed our bags and headed west, but we did not make it all the way home. We made a stop in Iceland to visit friends and ring in the New Year.

While in Iceland, an unusual storm swept through the arctic area showering us in snow and overcast skies, which meant no chance to view the gorgeous northern lights. The tease that Iceland Air offers inside the cabin during take-off was not enough, so we now have a great excuse to return to Iceland.

Our hosts provided excellent tour escort services and we explored a large area of this amazing island. The snow made the really short days not quite so dark, and it was not hard to sleep late in the mornings, the boys are still under the edict - not up until the sun is up. Well, that was after 10 am!
