It is a Big Country

The landscape changes drastically and dramatically the further west one is driving on I-40.  The flat vastness transitions to enormous mesas dotting the horizon and the mesas are joined by large mountains in shades of red. These vistas are impressive and majestic in particular in contrast to the brilliant blue sky with the blinding white puff clouds.
