Captain's Log Day 2

Food rationing – after a careful inventory of available food, it will be carefully portioned out at set times.

Water rationing until further notice.

We feel like celebrities, having a car and driver take us where we need to go. Today, we went to the large Costco type store – Metro - for some provisions.  Despite being “flush” with US cash, several credit cards, and even money on WeChat, we were dismayed to realize that credit cards were a no, we did not expect the store to accept our US cash, and our WeChat money requires a Chinese phone card. Fortunately, Bob had exchanged a bit of cash at the airport in LA and we carefully and cautiously shopped the aisles of the store for the basics.

The Captain lifted our tissue decree. No more shopping until we can find a bank to exchange money and a phone store for telephone cards.

Back home, we gulped our water cooler water, it is hot here. And before we knew it we were using the very last of our water… fortunately, water delivery is fast. The water rationing was graciously lifted by the Captain 45 minutes later and even before our individual water bottles were empty.

With a secure water supply, this appliance is getting heavy use
