Eating Out

We are taking full advantage of the multitude of little restaurants within walking distance of our apartment. Given that our kitchen is rather small, the counters rather low, and our equipment supply rather limited - eating out seems like a great solution. And the price is right, our dinners generally run about $6-8 dollar for the four of us. We have tried restaurants based on recommendations of others living in the apartment building, and we have ventured out our own to explore new and untried spots. So far, we have not had a bad meal and never left hungry. Google Translate becomes our friend as we scan menus.  What exactly is "Twisted Child' or "Dry Impatience Place?"  We order by pointing to an item which helps our communications with the staff which rarely if ever speak any English and our Chinese is non-existent. The staff happily chats with us, and since we are ignorant of what is said, we make up funny commentaries while we enjoy our dinner, and we take selfies and food pictures.
