Medical Appointment

Lucy notified us that Bob and I had a doctors appointment on Friday morning. Please be ready for the car at 7 am. Dutifully, we set the alarm clock and after a quick breakfast headed outside. Bob's phone buzzed, and there was a WeChat from Lucy. "Must pay attention, no eat breakfast." Oh well... a bit too late. When Lucy and Mr. Lou pulled up, we told her, and she seemed unphased, so off we went to the clinic. We had been told this was a least a half day affair, but Mr. Lou got us there early, and we were first in line for the assembly line medical examinations of various sorts. Cleanliness and privacy are not words that would describe Chinese healthcare, and I am relatively we received some of the best care available. Fortunately, since we were first in line, there was less risk of cross-contamination and germ spreading.  Less than 30 minutes later, we were all done and on our way back home. The boys were surprised to see us so early and probably a bit dismayed since this meant we would have time for school before lunch.

Now we wait for our residency permit to come through and with that the return of our passports.
