Time to be a Tourist Part 2

We headed towards the river and stopped at the Huguang Huiguan complex, where we saw part of the old city wall that remains. A site guide took us through the compound of a temple, entertaining area, and shops. At the center is a statue to Yu, the great emperor, now deity, know for his flood control during an unusually widespread flood - thirteen years.  While we were there, we had a sneak peek at the preparations for a wedding - bride and groom dressed in bright red and seating for ten (lucky number) at each table in the banquet hall.

Banyon tree - common in Chongqing

People from the countryside who had relocated came together at this hall to reminiscence about home and ask for alms when needed
