Thai Cooking and iPhone Adventure

Thai food has a special place in our family. Our first date was at a Thai restaurant, and we had Thai food at my house in Drexel Hill the night I got my engagement ring. When we go out to eat, we often opt for Thai food, and with the help of cookbooks, we frequently cook Thai at home. When the opportunity to attend a Thai cooking class came up, we jumped at the chance.
The class was hosted at a farm, so we first had a chance to walk through the gardens to see first hand some of the more common ingredients in Thai cooking. We touched, smelled, and tasted various leaves and roots.

Since there are four of us and there were several options for what to cook, we each selected a different dish, allowing us the chance to taste more delicious dishes.
We chopped, we sliced, we diced, and we smashed in the mortal; we boiled and we fried, and we ate, and we ate, and we ate. It was a leisurely and enjoyable time at a Thai farm with one other family - who coincidentally homeschooled and used Classical Conversation which made for natural lunch conversations for all the young ones.
The only cloud on this fantastic day was the missing phone. I accidentally dropped my phone when stepping out of the car in a parking lot. By the time I realized it was missing, it had been picked up. Bob, Lukas, Noah, and our friends Matt and Bethany schemed and plodded to track the phone, and all of us prayed for the recovery. While we were cooking, the phone moved all around the city before heading back to center. Matt, using "find iPhone" was only a step or two behind the phone for quite some time. Maybe the person sensed the intense scrutiny, maybe he was overcome by guilt, or maybe the noise of the screaming phone (another Apple feature) was too much  - we will never know - but the phone was dropped in a flower pot at a Buddist temple, and a monk handed it back to Matt. I am so grateful for the effort and energy that our friends invested in getting the phone back.  A story we will not soon forget. I will remain a loyal OtterCase owner as it protected the phone when it was run over. I have accepted the consequences that I carelessly dropped it and endure the boys continual asking me if I have the phone in my possession.

What an eventful day and I am grateful all ended well.
