Old Town Chiang Mai

While munching on food, we had the opportunities to see some of the older parts of Chiang Mai. The temples are colorful, and the architecture is ornate. A small temple was built upon the site where one of the first kings is said to have slept - and now it is sacred ground. The structure can only be observed not touched.  A moat surrounds the city, and we walked part of it as part of our tour - a good thing we put a lot of miles on our shoes as we were constantly eating.

This is a good reminder not to put the shoes in the toilet

interesting contrast of primitive boat and high rise coexisting
