While munching on food, we had the opportunities to see some of the older parts of Chiang Mai. The temples are colorful, and the architecture is ornate. A small temple was built upon the site where one of the first kings is said to have slept - and now it is sacred ground. The structure can only be observed not touched. A moat surrounds the city, and we walked part of it as part of our tour - a good thing we put a lot of miles on our shoes as we were constantly eating.
