Traditions are Important

Traditions are meaningful, and traditions are important. However, it is the tradition, not necessarily the exact day that matters. So, since we would not be home on July 4th, we made our yearly peach ice cream and enjoyed it a few days earlier, July 1st to be exact. Maybe we can say that we were honoring our neighbors in the north, by enjoying ice cream on Canada's Independence Day?  Fortunately, we did not have to celebrate the 4th without the traditional peach ice cream, as Lisa so kindly made a delicious batch for dessert - we might even have to adopt her new recipe...
