Capernaum - a city in which Jesus healed a Roman's servant. As a token of his appreciation, the Roman soldier built a synagogue. It is also Jesus' 'hometown' after his wilderness temptation. We wandered through the well-preserved ruins, and once again wish that the stones could speak.
The modern Catholic church is built upon the remnants of what is believed to have been Peter's house.
