The Wall and The City
After lunch, we visited the Byzantine Cardo- the city streets in Jerusalem circa 500 AD. Much remains from this period, and what is missing is artfully filled in by murals and pictorials. The only thing missing was the sounds and smells. It is remarkable to walk on streets that have handled feet and wheels for over 1600 years. As we left the city, we followed the wall around Jerusalem. The gates are still the only entrances into this hilly city.
