Yosemite in May

For Christmas, I received a gift certificate for a Photography Workshop in Yosemite in May. We packed up the new car, which almost fits everything we need to camp, and headed north. As we drove up, the weather got increasingly warmer and sunnier, making for a gorgeous drive. After a few stops along the way, we finally made it to the campground and set up camp. The boys handled the tent while Bob handled dinner, and Christina sipped red wine and marveled at the view, the weather and the peaceful surroundings.
Friday we entered the park and visited Bridal veil waterfalls, hiked a few other places, played in the shallow but oh so cold water with Half Dome as a backdrop and ended the day by hiking to Vernal Falls. Noah and Bob made it all the way to the top, whereas Lukas and I stopped right before the deep puddles and the almost constant mist from the fall. We happily enjoyed the fall from afar while waiting for our explorers, whom we could see when the reached the top, if by seeing we mean recognizing the color of their shirts and therefore surmising it must be them since the distance was so far.
We had a fabulous and fun day and after a delicious dinner, I headed off to my workshop while the boys got ready for bed. The pocket flash light helped me get back to the campsite after dark, for a quick few hours of sleep before getting up to greet the sunset in Yosemite with fellow photography enthusiasts.
