Christmas Dinner

It never rains in Southern California, a well known tune and a relatively accurate statement of the weather in So Cal. We on the other hand, are living in Central Coast Cali and it does rain here, sometimes a lot, although it is usually nice and temperate. Unfortunately, Christmas Day brought rain and not just a little rain. Our plan for fried turkey calls for outdoor cooking... and Lukas rigged up a tarp for Bob to stand under as he set out to cook. The tarp worked pretty well, and would have worked even better had he picked a tarp without holes...
The turkey was delicious and we have new converts to fried turkey - the Swedish contingency - who were all rather skeptical to this crazy idea of deep fat frying food for a gourmet meal. There was not much left to put in the fridge after everyone was done eating. Maybe we started a new Swedish tradition?
