The sand dunes here in MI are different than the ones we encountered in California. In places the dunes are eroding so fast that there is an almost 45 degree drop from top of dune to the lake shore. Big notices warning of the hard climb up did not deter Bob and Noah who set off on the descent. Fortunately, they took it in sections and opted to turn back before hitting the water - Noah described it as one step forward and four step backwards as he attempted to climb up again.
Lukas and Mamma watched from the outlook deck, where the view was amazing and the climb could be safely observed, and enjoyed vicariously through those who made the attempt. It must not be an easy climb up as the sign said "You will be responsible for the cost of rescue."
It was great to see Bob and Noah make it to the top; Noah loving the conquering of yet another challenge, and Mamma's heart no longer racing...
