Participating in Boy Scouts have long been on our 'would like to do' list, and now that we are settled here in Michigan it is becoming reality. Bob has visited with both a Boy Scout and a Cub Scout troop and the boys are ready to master the various skills required to earn badges and pins.
First thing first, however, which meant a trip to the Scout store for uniforms, patches and books. Lukas then began his first Scout activity, selling pop corn at a local grocery store on Saturday afternoon. He acknowledged that skills learned in his speech class came in handy as he solicited grocery shoppers to purchase a treat in support of Scouts.
From going from relatively few weekly required activities, our calendars are rapidly filling up with camp outs, service projects and meetings, as we become a Scout family. I think both our Swedish and American families think "it is about time you joined Boy Scouts."
