Thanksgiving Day Parade

We started a new tradition last year, attending the Thanksgiving Day parade. We piled extra clothes, chairs, blankets and hot cocoa into the car and headed down town. Last year, the snow was falling fast, the wind blowing and it was blustery cold, so this year's weather forecast sounded down right balmy, no wind, above 32 degrees and no snow.  Once again, we were fortunate to get front row seats and Barb settled in under blankets to view the parade, with her two grandsons sitting at her feet on insulation blankets. The parade included colorful floats, high school marching bands, all girl pompom teams, funny characters and for the last time the Briefcase Brigade. It was a fun way to start off the Christmas season and we had surely burned a lot of calories staying warm, justifying every morsel of sweet and savory treats on the Thanksgiving dinner table.
