It is a Big Country

After a few days of Barb's pampering and R&R, it was once again time to load up the car and head west. Our next destination, Albuquerque, NM.  Let's just say that this is a big country and that some highways must have been designed using a straight ruler. One can see 60 miles down the road.....

After what seemed like a really long time we finally crossed into Texas and were greeted by the customary state sign. It was good we did not need the Welcome Center, because it is 100 miles away, deep in Texas.

It is also not a great idea to drink a large lemonade when the landscape looks like this - bathrooms are really few and far between.
