Lukas was very excited about the opportunity to get a lot of driving practice on our cross country trip. On Monday morning, when we steered the car towards Missouri and Grammy, Lukas offered to drive after a quick morning nap. Well, the nap lasted most of the day and was surely well deserved after two weeks of minimal sleep and then two days of intense visiting with friends. Fortunately, I had good podcasts to listen to which helped pass the drive time.
The boys slept as we crossed over from Kentucky into Illinois for all of three minutes crossing the Ohio River, and then crossing the Mississippi River and entering Missouri. It felt as if we were almost there, when we saw the Missouri sign. Alas, we had a few more hours.
