A Sunday Hike

On Sunday afternoon, we decided to explore the green area behind the school. We have walked down many stairs daily to get to the town. This was the time to climb further up the mountain.
We followed the road as far as we could and then climbed stairs until we reached a plateau with picnic tables and a memorial to tree planting. I wished I had a degree in horticulture to be able to identify the many different plants we encountered.  The one that we did recognize - and could name - was the prolific squash plant draped over every overhang and loaded with ripe squashes. Since we did not know how these squash had been treated, we left them behind and continued our trek.

Nothing behind the doors...

Household pets and dinner?

tiny holes in all the leaves -almost like lace
