When we want to cross the street, we try to wait for a few locals also wanting to go to the other side. When they walk, we walk. Herd mentally works well. The cars do not seem to care about crosswalks or pedestrians, and the scooters and three wheel trucks are definitely oblivious to anyone walking.
Parking is another curious phenomenon; sidewalks seem the preferred place for parking the car and often so far up the sidewalk that one wonders how the car got there in the first place.
One of several driving schools on the street we walk at night. |
