Exploration Time

Bob had some more free time this week as he was not lecturing or overseeing labs. With a predicted break in the rain, we headed to the zoo. Due to heavy traffic, our taxi did not move but 100 meters in 10 minutes, we decided to walk the final distance.  On this delightful, yet unexpected walk, we found lots of interesting things to capture our senses. The aroma of a bakery beckoned us to stop for 'donut' like pastries, Noah opted for a Chinese style chicken sandwich while Bob and Lukas enjoyed some hot steamy dumplings from a street vendor. Maybe it was the holiday week, or perhaps it is just China, but we saw many people walking around. People were milling around the various plazas, others were hauling their wares to sell, and others were hunting for bargains in the stores and open-air markets. We are so fortunate to have all these amazing experiences.
