Chongqing Zoo

The goal of our exploration was visiting the Chongqing Zoo.  While waiting in line, we learned that Chongqing issues its own AARP card and kindly calls it "Chongqing Municipal People's Certification of Old People Preferential Treatment Card" which would get someone in for free.  The Chinese culture retains its respect for the elderly.

Inside the park, we saw interesting signs teaching visitors basic English words. We skipped the playland area and headed right for the animal exhibits. The park is hilly, and we walked up and down stairs and inclines - is there any flat areas of Chongqing?

Admittedly, we had a few preconceived notions of the zoo, in particular when we realized it was over 60 years old. Happily, some of these prejudices were quickly shattered. Although we spent most of the time watching the pandas, we did see the white tiger, kangaroos, the elephant that was being fed apples by visitors, and the giraffes against the construction background.

An interesting choice of vocabulary  - yes, mass, yesterday, pose, girl, bus amaze, and dangerous

There is no pool in the zoo

We apparently entered at the side gate and only encountered this one when we left.
