Singapore is an aesthetically pleasing city. Gardens and green spaces scattered around and people took advantage of the shade these oases offered. Streets are noticeably void of trash - the hefty fine for littering clearly works as a deterrent. Even ordinary buildings are carefully designed for beauty and functionality.
The world's first double helix bridge is one example of the attention to detail in design and construction. We walked the 280-meter long stainless steel structure and marveled. Beauty and function perfectly matched.
