A Thousand Layer History Lesson
Bet Shean National Park provided an incredible history lesson. Due to its strategic location, it has been the home to settlers for thousands of years. Layers upon layers from cities long-forgotten means this is a treasure trove for any history buff or archeologist. We saw ancient mosaics, ornately decorated columns, bathhouses, public bathrooms, private homes, and even a small chapel. Oh, for these stones to be able to speak - what stories we could hear. Where did they get marble? How did they transport it to this point? What kind of tools did they use?
