Crusader History Lesson
We visited the Hospitaller Fortress in Acre. This order of monks devoted themselves to care for the safety and health of pilgrims gathering at the holy sites in Israel. The structures date to around 1100 AD, with much preserved from the original construction. We even had a chance to explore the escape tunnel system under the settlement. Afterward, we walked through the local market and found some tasty treats.
