Block Party

Our final Parents Weekend activity was the Block Party before the Tailgate party before the ASU-USC game. We had fun trying out various activities, browsing the bookstore, and eating barbeque sandwiches and fancy cookies before it was time to say "see you later to the boys" and head back to Flagstaff. What an action pact and fun 24 hours we had as a family!

Christmas Shopping

There are undoubtedly many different places to find meaningful Christmas gifts - for Lukas and Noah, the store of choice is Home Depot. Now, to wait to see what thoughtful things they are creating. Only 45 days until the reveal.

Rita's

Lukas needed to run an errand, and as he studied the directions, he realized Rita's was almost on the way. Naturally, we could not resist a cool treat on this warm afternoon.

Van Gogh Exhibit

We escaped the head to see the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit. Seated on the floor, we twisted and turned to catch it all, enjoyed the musical scores and the incredible experience of seeing Van Gogh's art coming alive in a new, exciting way.

Hike to the Hole

We broke away from the school to do a quick mini hike to the hole. It turned out we were not the only ones who had this bright idea.

I guess I need to practice my selfie skills....

Breakfast

Breakfast on the quad - Saturday morning, a bit too early for Noah's preferences. We enjoyed baked goods, egg burritos, and fruit while listening to the Dean and enjoying the Talent Show.

More Sweets

Noah and Lukas loaded up zip lock bags from the penny candy that I brought back from Sweden. Noah later quipped that he only grabbed sour candy - so the chewy ones will wait for him here at Thanksgiving.

Ice Cream Social

ASU Parents Weekend started off with an ice cream social at the Fulton School of Engineering. Tasty gourmet ice cream, just what we needed after a bowl of frozen yogurt :-)

Fun Reunion

Friends from Ridgecrest texted and wanted to visit on their way to Phoenix. As it turned out, we were also headed to Phoenix, so we met for frozen treats. It is hard to believe it has been over 10 years. How sweet to catch up over sweet treats.

Dinner in the Orchard

Lukas and Noah attended the "Dinner in the Orchard," an event hosted by Barrett. It sure looked like they had a good time. Noah got to wear his new suit again, and Lukas sported a new tie and shirt since no suit was to be found in his size.
