Beach time

The main objective of the trip was getting sand in between our toes, feeling the sun on our faces, and hang out on the beach. Based on the photos that we took, it seems we achieved our goal, some would even say we exceeded it.

When the wind is a bit cool, bedding down makes it more comfortable...

Eating outside

It was a bit cooler than expected in Florida. Fortunately, the restaurant was prepared for the cooler evenings and cranked up the heaters so we could sit outside comfortably. We enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner served up at Frenchy's.

Tarpon Springs

On Sunday morning, we headed to Tarpon Springs for some sightseeing and good Greek food. We walked up and down 'Main Street' perused several  of the many Sponge Stores. We also visited a Sponge Museum where we learned about the significance of the sponge, why Tarpon Spring, and how to collect sponges from the bottom of the ocean.

All the shopping and learning made us hungry so we headed to a Greek restaurant for lunch. While we were waiting, we had a chance to check out the bakery section of the restaurant. All of us resolved to save some space for dessert. The pictures of the desserts disappeared just like the treats we bought :-)

Drinks on the beach

We brought our hors d'ouvre and drinks to the beach so we could enjoy the sunset over the Gulf. Since it as a bit on the cooler side, the boys dug themselves pits to lay in to get out of the wind, yet stay on the beach.
Noah, not wanting to get sand in the salsa, happily accepted Bob feeding him.

Sitting pretty

On our walk around Clearwater Beach, we found several interesting chairs- I guess the tourists are encouraged to sit down, take a rest, and stay awhile.

Vacation perks

The boys enjoyed some early morning video gaming. Lukas created his own darkroom to better navigate in his 3D world. A brand new use for his favorite sweatshirt.

Boat trip

We enjoyed a luncheon cruise in the Tampa Bay, watching the dolphins play at the side of the boat, smelling the salty air, and enjoying tasty food. A perfect way to spend a day in the sun.
