Books

As we wandered back through the city, we stumbled upon Brittle Books, an enormous used bookstore. We only looked through the clearance area outside the store, if we had dared to enter, we might have never emerged again...

Birthday meals

Saturday Lukas turned 15 years old. He got breakfast in bed, bagels and apples. For lunch, he roamed all over Faneuil Hall Market and settled on clam chowder in a bread bowl. He and his brother played another round of chess while enjoying their lunch in the open area. Noah let the birthday boy win. For dinner, we headed to the Little Italy and Lukas enjoyed Linguine with Clams.

Public Transportation

The Boston Public Transportation system is fantastic. With our transit passes,

we traveled all over the city using buses, metro, and even water taxi.

Bunker Hill Monument View

We climbed all 294 steps to the top of Bunker Hill Monument and the view was worth every puff, huff, and gasp.

USS Constitution

On Saturday morning we headed to the USS Constitution where we  walked through the museum and the actual ship.

One by land, two by sea

We walked through the Old North Church and saw a light lantern in the famous window. A docent shared some of the church's history giving us a good excuse to sit down in a pew and rest our feet.

Public Performance

There were public pianos scattered around the Boston inviting people to play and entertain pedestrians. Lukas played a quick piece for us on our way to the Old North Church.
