The Baking is Done!

Lukas and Noah filled every cookie jar in the house and there were still more cookies. Fortunately, the local big box store is nearby and containers are plentiful this time of the year.

These did not make it to MO....

On the day before New Years, after filling cookie platters in two states, we still have plenty. I guess there is no need to make a special New Year's Eve dessert :-)

Christmas baking

School is in full swing here, math, chemistry, home economics, reading, and phys ed. We are making Christmas treats!

Never too Cold to Fly

Lukas and Noah thought the snow fall would make for perfect flying weather. Their most recent contraption, a hover craft, would work well on the untouched snow in the park. That it was freezing outside did not seem to bother them.

Snow

The boys suited up in winter clothes and went out to shovel the drive way. While outside, they decided to create a snow cave, and all of a sudden what had seemed chore was now fun!

The photo does not do it justice  - it is "The Thinker" made of snow

Puzzle Man

Noah wanted to break out a new puzzle on Sunday morning. Bob and Lukas had already left for church, since Lukas was doing AV.  Mama was thinking this puzzle will be a nice leisurely activity for a snowy day, alas she was wrong. In less than 30 minutes, with minor assistance, Noah had the puzzle complete. He needs more complex puzzles, this was too easy! We had fun exploring all the interesting graphics before we put it back in its box.

Back to Reality!

All good things must come to an end. Our cruise ship pulled in, and we embarked in a rain storm. It was a good preparation for the snow that fell our first night back home. It is after all December, and we do live in Michigan.

Surfing

On the last day at sea, the boys spent time perfecting their wave riding skills in the wave runner pool on board the ship.
