Sand

The last few years, we have been surrounded by sand, sandy beaches, sand in the car, sand in our pockets, sand on the floor, not to mention sand in the hair and ears... sand was everywhere. At times I was worried that we would be cited for removing too much sand as we visited the local California beaches.  Yet, we never grew tired of the sand and it was with delight that we returned to the Sand Dunes for some climbing, rolling, jumping and hiking.
After about an hour of climbing up and rolling down, the boys set out to make a fort/structure with drift wood. Just like on Carmel beach, people stopped to look, ask questions and have their photos taken with these budding architects and builders. I wonder in how many Chinese homes, our boys are looking down from a photo frame?
