Celebration and ham radio

On Tuesday I planned a celebration dinner in recognition of Bob's promotion. Back home with special groceries, the boys suggested we head to a local park for fire works and 'oh by the way, there is a Lark in the Park as well.' A Lark in the Park is a gathering of Ham radio operators and a great place to glean insights into the details and intricacies of ham radio operating.
We packed the cooler and headed to the park.

The dinner was delicious, the sparkling wine surprisingly good, and we had a fun picnic. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. Thunder and lightening is not compatible with large antennae and other metal objects, and fireworks in the rain is not that much fun, so we headed home to stay dry and warm.

Lukas did chat with someone in GA, Noah had fun taking pictures and Bob and I had a chance to sit and chat, enjoying the view - so all in all a perfect evening for a fun celebration.
