Fireworks fun

Lukas and Noah headed to one of the many fireworks stores here in Michigan earlier this week, in anticipation of Fourth of July. Fireworks are legal on all the major holidays so the stores are doing brisk business. Given that the boys had to finance this with their own money, there were much comparing, weighing and debating before the final selection was made.

Today, after chores and packing, the boys began to tinker with their wares. There were broken extensions cords, tubing, lighters, pliers and even paper airplanes involved in the experimentation. After dinner, we headed to the park. Bob had a chance to catch up with his brother Joel, while the boys shot off various little firecrackers and made a bunch of noise. They convinced Mama to partake of the fun of throwing things that make a bang noise and Bob was happy to engage in the activities. They had more fireworks than they could shot off, as the lighter ran out of fuel - and peach ice cream was waiting. Being frugal, I am sure to find the leftovers in the freezer to preserve them for the next major holiday... hopefully they are clearly marked :-)
