Cable Car Ride and Downtown Skyline

Two rivers meet in Chongqing, the Yangtze and the Jialing. The most common method of crossing the rivers is via a bridge. From our south side of the city to the downtown area there is also the opportunity to take a cable car which we did one day when it was almost clear sky. We had waited for this opportunity - clear sky - to enjoy the night lights of the city, and this was the day. We stood in line for quite some time, and thanks to turnstiles we did not lose our place in line but moved with the crowd towards the goal.  Our height gave us a significant advantage as we packed into the cable car and rode over the river. The sun had set, and some of the building lights were on offering a sparkling view of the city.
