Walmart - Chongqing style

The all-American Walmart has made a huge inroad in China - apparently, there are several in Chongqing. Since we wanted to make an American dessert, we headed to Walmart in the hopes of finding a few familiar baking ingredients. It was not a big box store, but the signage guided us to the underground Walmart and its vast array of products.  Although we did not find what we came for, we left with a few things in our bag. Bob was deciding between the 1 liter and the 2.5 liters Coke, but the free tissues with purchase swayed him towards the larger bottle. It is interesting to see what merchandise is offered and what are more local items such as the handy picnic set. Noah tried the compressed biscuit- the price was right, but after tasting it decided that no price was low enough to compel another purchase.  The carts were locked up just like in Sweden which meant we knew how to unlock one for our shopping. Who knew we would draw upon our Swedish grocery store experience when shopping at Walmart in Chongqing?
Taking the bus back and forth allowed us a chance to sample some of the street vendor food - Noah found a new favorite snack!
