Struvor

Struvor is a traditional Swedish Christmas cookie. A delicate concoction fried on the stove rather than baked. Mormor brought out her struvor mold made by her grandfather, and it was time to heat the oil. Lukas and Noah mixed up a few versions of the dough and settled on one that worked well to be thick enough to stick to the mold and sufficiently light to cook through before it was burnt.

Since mormor also brought out another mold, the boys made croustades as well. Filled with chantarelles, these were delicious.
