A Very Old Town

After spending a few days inside, eating, drinking, and puzzling we were ready for an outing. We piled into the car and headed to one of the oldest cities in Sweden, Sigtuna. The mild and sunny weather making a nice walk around comfortable quickly changed into cold, raw and icy wind - which made us walk briskly. To warm up, we stopped at a little cafe for hot cocoa and enormous vanilla buns. Fortified we looked at some of the old runestones marveling that this piece of rock is still standing after almost a 1,000 years. We also toured the old and older church in town before heading back to the warmth of the car, just as the sun set over the tree line. Days are not long in the December and we took full advantage of all the daylight.
